Linda Smith, CEO, Providence Speech and Hearing Center

Linda Smith began her career as a registered nurse with a public health nursing credential from Mount St. Mary College. Since then, she has continued to work in healthcare, including holding various senior level positions with TrinityCare LLC and Little Company of Mary Health Services. Linda was also a founder of LifeCare Solutions/Nations Healthcare and ran her own healthcare consulting firm for 5 years before moving to Providence.

Raul Lopez, COO — Director of Finance

Raul Lopez earned an MBA from Whittier College before accumulating more than 25 years of professional financial experience for some of the largest healthcare organizations in Southern California, including California Hospital Medical Center, Los Angeles Community Hospital, and Planned Parenthood. Raul’s experience includes healthcare financial operations, acquisitions, revenue cycle management, divestitures, and cost improvements for both non-profit and for-profit organizations.

Jeanne Flint, Chief Development Officer

Jeanne Flint has more than 25 years' experience in HR, Sales, Marketing, Training, and Leadership Management in both non-profit and for-profit businesses, as well as the public sector. Prior to joining the Providence Management team, Jeanne was the Executive Director of an Orange County nonprofit, Women Helping Women, where she led the organization for 7 years. She is a lifelong public education advocate, having served a total of 14 years on both the Los Alamitos Unified School District and the Irvine Unified School District's Board of Trustees. She currently serves as President of The Women’s Alliance, a national membership organization that prepares low-income women for employment to gain self-sufficiency.

Bobbi Dickinson, Director of Providence Therapeutic Preschool

Bobbi Dickinson graduated from the A N C College with a 4.0 GPA in early childhood education, special needs, and administration. She received the Presidential Award for perfect attendance and GPA. She also attended Chaffey College in Alta Loma, CA. She has been teaching and directing for the past 15 years and works as a counselor for at-risk teens on the weekends. Her teaching experience includes infants and children aged 2 to 15. Her extensive training in early childhood education includes special needs. To Bobbi, early intervention and open communication with parents is the most important aspect in a young child's life, ensuring a successful educational career.

Katy Sullivan, Director of Audiology

Katy Sullivan, AuD, has served the needs of our community at Providence Speech and Hearing Center since 1998. She graduated in 1993 with her Master’s degree in audiology from San Francisco State University and with her Doctorate of audiology in 2008 from Central Michigan University. Dr. Sullivan is fluent in Spanish and American Sign Language. She specializes in the special needs of hearing-impaired children and adults and speaks regularly to community groups, pediatricians, neonatal ICU nurses, and ear, nose, and throat doctors to alert them to new procedures and new possibilities.

Amanda Wolfgang

Amanda Wolfgang, Director of Therapy Services

Amanda Wolfgang, MS CCC-SLP, has worked in the field of speech language pathology since 2002, when she graduated with her Master’s degree in communication disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas. She was Speech Therapy Supervisor in an acute care hospital (Mission Hospital) more than 6 years before she transitioned into the role of Director of Clinical Services for Newport Therapy Center. Amanda specializes in clinical care and program development for pediatric and adult populations in the areas of cognitive rehabilitation and dysphagia management and feeding in the NICU. She was recognized with an award from CSHA for District 8 Outstanding Service in 2010. Amanda is joining Chapman University in 2011 as adjunct faculty for their post-baccalaureate communication sciences and disorders certification program.

ChelseaLee Johansen, Director of Human Resources

ChelseaLee Johansen earned her BA in psychology from California State University, Fullerton, and a certificate in human resource management from Chapman University & the Society for Human Resource Management. She joined Providence in 2004 and has worked in various administrative positions, advancing to Director of Human Resources. She is currently pursuing her MBA at Pepperdine University.

Sylvia Alvarado
Sylvia Alvarado

Sylvia Alvarado, Director of Administrative Services

Sylvia Alvarado’s career with Providence spans more than 20 years. She has held every administrative position, beginning in reception and medical records and advancing to Director of Administrative Services. Sylvia was an integral part of the implementation of electronic billing in the late 1990s, state-of-the art scheduling in the early 2000s and most recently the Chart Links electronic medical records system.

 
 

Staff

Audiologists

All of our audiologists have earned an advanced degree in audiology with specialties in both pediatric and adult care.

Speech Language Pathologists

All of our experienced speech language pathologists are state and nationally certified. We work with infants, young children, and adults in both individual and group therapy sessions to develop early cognitive skills, language development, and sound production as well as receptive and expressive language.

Occupational Therapy Team

Our occupational therapists help children ages 2 to 5 learn to explore and interact with their environment using sensory integration and other therapy techniques. Our staff will also work with parents of children under one year of age to provide loving care for their infant.

Providence Therapeutic Preschool

At Providence Therapeutic Preschool, voted the No. 1 preschool in Orange County by The Orange County Register, our dedicated teachers offer an innovative curriculum based on speech and language to prepare each child for a typical learning environment and a successful, rewarding school experience.

Administration

Our administrative team provides a one-stop service for all your scheduling, billing, and insurance verification needs.

Development Team

Our development team produces 2 major fundraisers and donor events. We steward donors and build relationships and support the Tree of Life Legacy Society.

Marketing and Communications Team

Our marketing and communications team develops internal and external outreach to physicians, community groups, and social media.
